I am trying to keep these weekly notes as short as possible, but I need to add kudos to President Tracylyn of the San Bernardino Sunset Club. Friday night’s “Roast” was a fantastic event. Fellowship was the highlight of the evening; clubs from Lake Arrowhead to Temecula participated, and a lot of fun was had by all – especially me!
Club Visitations: Temecula Sunrise: Home of the “Symphony at Sunset”, this Club really adds class to Rotary. Projects include books, kids, teachers and water – what else could I ask for! President Roger Weber has this Club revved up and running on all cylinders.
Cathedral City: Maybe the “Indy 500” of Community Service projects - for the second year in a row, this Club will present the Healing Field in Patriot Park. What a great project! President Laura Ahmed will continue to emphasize membership and public relations.
Lake Elsinore: Youth Exchange Camp, Oktoberfest, Teacher of the Month, and too many more activities to list, this Club is does it all. They have already collected enough children books for the International Convention book drive to exceed my height of 5’9”, stacked from the floor up. President Louis Fetherolf has his big guns aimed at a great year.
Hemet Sunrise: President Robin Halcomb-Henry has continued to build the excitement in this Club. New young members are joining and taking leadership roles, and are being mentored by long time members. They partner with local Clubs for Community projects, and support International projects as well. Great job!
Beaumont-Cherry Valley: This Club supports one of the most active Interact clubs in the District. They have also put together a great “New Member” packet for prospective members. Their 5th Thursday provides great fellowship and their many local projects shares Rotary in their community. President Debbie Walser is fired up and pushing the Club to the front of the pack.
