ROTARY DISTRICT 5330 FRIDAY FACTS AUGUST 3, 2007
New Rotarians:
Palm Springs
La Quinta
Club Visitations: Yucaipa: The generosity of Ruth and Al Braswell always puts this club in the top spot for per capita giving, but all the members are doing their part for The Foundation. Their annual fundraiser raises money for many great programs, including STARS and Rotaplast. President Tom Jenson is fired up, and will "Drive" this club forward.
Big Bear Lake Dawn Busters: Gaining slowly, but surely, President Paula Cousins plans a major push for new members this year. A change of location to the Northwoods Inn is the first step, and has greatly improved their venue. While concentrating on membership is their number one goal, they will continue to do all the other great projects they do in their community.
Big Bear Lake: This Club is awesome! Number two in the District for per capita giving, and number one in overall giving. They are also a 100% Paul Harris Fellow Club. They have been doing a "Santa Clause Visit" in Big Bear for over 40 years, and visit and deliver gifts to over 700 kids on Christmas every year. This Club also leads all others with the number of Exchange Students hosted. President Dick Shaw has a great Board, with a good mixture of old and new Board members. This Club has their throttle floored, and is pulling away from the pack.
Club visits next week: Joshua Tree Twentynine Palms San Gorgonio Pass Desert Hot Springs |
