Project Description:
Crissy’s goal – One Hike, One Goal: A Polio Free World
The hike started on April 21, 2007 at the Mexico border near Campo, California. The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is 2,658 miles long, covering some of the most beautiful terrain in America. Crissy is expected to arrive at Manning Provincial Park, BC, Canada on October 8, 2007 (weather permitting). She will be stopping along the way to visit communities along the PCT and spread the word about polio eradication. She will be home hosted by fellow Rotarians living nearby who will provide her with a hot shower, plenty of food, and a warm place to sleep.
Crissy is a member of the Lake Elsinore Rotary Club in Lake Elsinore, California, USA. After traveling in Europe upon completion of her undergraduate degree at the University of California, Irvine; she came home inspired to make a difference with the help of Rotary.
For more information about polio visit www.rotary.org. To learn more about Crissy and where she is on the trail and her fundraising efforts visit her website at www.pct4poliofreeworld.com.
To make a contribution toward polio eradication you can visit either of the above web sites and follow the directions – the money ends up the same place. Let us know if you make an on-line contribution so we can reflect that on Crissy’s contribution page.
