Project Description:

Lords Meade Vocational College (LMVC) opened in February 2002, and currently has 655 students – with about half of boys and girls.  There are boarding facilities for about 500, while the remainder are day students coming from up to 5 miles away.
A new development near Jinja, Uganda with the aim of providing quality post-primary comprehensive education for disadvantaged students of Uganda and surrounding countries.  It is a project of Tofta Educational Trust.

Comprehensive education is popular with both parents and students as it provides both academic and vocational education, hence providing life skills.  LMVC is the only secondary educational institution in the area that provides these facilities and hence it has become very popular; to such an extent that some classes now have up to 80 students.

Educational equipment in the form of laboratory equipment, text books, tailoring and cookery equipment have been donated by Rotary Clubs in USA, Mexico, and UK through matching grants.  The administration is most grateful for this support.
